Cervélo – Incomparably Light and Fast Road Bikes, Frames & Parts
From the Idea to the Fastest Wheels in the World – With Carbon and Innovation
For more than two decades, Cervélo has been pursuing a major goal: to make all riders faster. Months of testing in the wind tunnel, advanced materials research and feedback from hundreds of professionals are being incorporated into the development of every frame and component. It all began in 1995 with the desire to build an aerodynamic road bike that would not lose stiffness and weight compared to a normal road bike. A year later, Canadians Gérard Vroomen and Phil White introduced their first two time trial and triathlon racing bikes - the P2 and the Cervélo Altus - at the Toronto Bike Show. They caused quite a stir with the first carbon frame weighing less than a kilo.
Numerous triathletes and speedsters were immediately convinced and an unprecedented success story followed: From the first Ironman title in 1998 to multiple Ironman winner Chrissie Wellington (on her Cervélo P2), the victory of Frederik Van Lierde (Cervélo P5), to the first step into professional cycling as the smallest and youngest cycling company sponsoring a team of the Elite Men's Tour and Carlos Sastre's Tour de France victory and finally to Thor Hushovd's UCI World Championship Road Racing title on a Cervélo S3 and Emma Pooley's UCI time trial world title (Cervélo P3) - Cervélo bikes and frames always exceeded expectations.
Classic, Aero and Endurance – Light, Fast and Stable
The women and men of the professional team Sunweb currently ride on R5 and S5 racing bikes from Cervélo. The classic road bikes of the R-Series have redefined what a road bike can be. Unsurpassed in comfort, stability and handling and more streamlined than ever, thanks to new Squoval Max tube shapes, the bikes shine on cobblestones, in the mountains and on descents. The ingeniously lightweight racing machines and frame sets with integrated disc brake technology offer even more confidence.
The S-Series offers pure speed without sacrificing stability or comfort. The S3 frame set, the stiffest in the Aero Road category, has incredible damping characteristics at a weight of about 1 kg. Every revolution is converted into forward motion, making the world's fastest aero road bike the sprinter's first choice.
For the very long tours, the less smooth roads and the greatest versatility, Cervélo has created the Endurance Road C-Series. The aggressive racing bikes are light and responsive, but at the same time very comfortable and durable.
Engineering for a Greener World
Form always follows function for the Canadian engineers to get the most out of all materials. This can be seen in every single part - from the seat post or thru axle to the seat clamp. But above all, Cervélo has a responsibility to be as environmentally friendly as possible and to contribute to the health of the planet, which Cervélo does right on its doorstep: there are bicycle storage rooms and shower facilities to motivate employees to come to work by bike and thus minimise CO2 emissions. Bullfrog Power's green electricity, the recycling of waste and the use of recycled paper are also an integral part. Cervélo has already implemented many innovative and environmentally friendly measures, but they are always looking for more ways to promote an active and ecological lifestyle.
