Parapera Bikes: The Carbon Specialists from Bavaria

The name of the new gravel bike brand Parapera comes from the Greek. Translated, it means "one step further" or "beyond". This describes in a nutshell the values that distinguish the bikes: Innovation, quality and engineering of the extra class.

At the center of all bikes of the bike brand is the high-end carbon frame. In the process, the high-quality carbon fibers - Japanese Toray T-800 - are bonded with a high-performance epoxy resin. This makes the carbon composite material dimensionally stable and durable. The result shows excellent properties, such as:

• extremely low total weight
• maximum efficiency
• high stability 

Thanks to the German-based development and quality control, it is guaranteed that all bikes and their components meet the very high quality standards. Parapera has also eliminated the supposed weak point of carbon frames in its bikes: epoxy resin is UV-sensitive and therefore ages more quickly. To avoid this disadvantage, the proportion of carbon in the composite material was increased. This increases the fiber volume fraction and reduces air pockets and voids, while still providing a continuous resin matrix to enclose the fibers. In combination with a durable UV-resistant clearcoat, amazingly long-lasting frames can be built.

The brand's bikes have only been on the market since March 2022, yet the minds behind them have years of experience in the bicycle industry. After all, the parent company is none other than A. & A. Kirschner Fahrradmanufaktur GbR. It is also behind the Rennstahl and Falkenjagd Bikes, which rely on steel and titanium frames.

The accumulated experience of the two sibling brands made the step to also rely on carbon as a frame material very easy. The manufacture started developing the first models as early as 2019, and after long months of testing, readjusting, improving and designing, the first bikes could be presented in 2022.

The brand launch is accompanied by three Parapera bikes. Each is designed for gravel bikers and leading in its respective special field of application. However, they have in common the specially developed frame made of carbon and high-quality components, some of which also come from in-house development and manufacturing.

The bike is equipped with Campagnolo EKAR 1x13-speed gears and is incredibly versatile. It gets you safely from A to B on multi-day tours as well as on your daily commute. The Parapera Aeras feels perfectly at home on and off the asphalt, as befits true all-road bikes. Thanks to the load capacity of 135 kilograms, it easily accommodates your luggage on longer trips. But it is also the ideal companion for short trips or the way to work and home. With a maximum tire width of 30 millimeters, narrower wheels are also possible than on other bikes. Thus, it is very light on your feet.
