CUBE don't think you should have to modify a bike you've just bought for your child in order to make it safer on the road. That's why, with the Acid 240 Allroad, they have included all the accessories you're ever likely to need. There's mudguards for wet weather, LED lights so that your child can see and be seen, and a front brake modulator to help prevent over-the-bars accidents.
