HGC 1400 – The Hybrid Gravel King

With the HGC 1400 SPLINE wheelset, DT Swiss makes another contribution to the new diversity of road cycling. While the Hybrid Endurance wheels provide maximum speed on the road, the Hybrid Gravel series focuses on riding pleasure off the asphalt.

In order to be able to withstand not only the heavy demands on the Trails, but also the E-Bike specific requirements, a mix of high-quality components is used in the exclusive high-end wheels. These include, in addition to the reliable DT Swiss 240 hub, the special Hybrid version of the streamlined aero comp spokes. The premium E-Gravel wheel is rounded off by the 42 mm high carbon rim, which combines excellent durability with low weight.

Legendary reliability | The Hybrid wheels of the HGC 1400 SPLINE (Straight Pull Line) series benefit from targeted testing procedures and many years of experience in the development of E-MTB components. Thanks to manual work, not only a precise manufacturing quality is achieved, but also the well-known, brand-typical reliability is ensured.

Ratchet freewheel system | The special feature of the patented freewheel system is that all teeth of the two installed ratchet pulleys always mesh simultaneously. Compared to pawl freewheel hubs, where the engagement surface is comparatively small, the loads are distributed evenly over a large contact surface by including the entire face surfaces. The result is lower point loading and thus significantly higher reliability.

Pro Lock technology | The DT Pro Lock spoke nipples prevent an independent loosening of the spoke-nipple connection. A patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, which allows the construction of extremely durable wheels. Once the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and then fully cures. Repeated re-centering is possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
