For Dedicated XC & Down Country Riders
Its asymmetric profile and reinforced material structure give the DUKE Lucky Star aluminium rim a modern geometry that is ideal for technical mountain bike racing. While the Heavy Duty (HD) construction guarantees the necessary resistance, a choice of differentiated cross-sections serves to adapt to the different characteristics required by the front and rear wheels.
DIFFERENTIATED PROFILE. To meet the different requirements of the front and rear of a mountain bike, the 6TERS concept is applied to the Lucky Star rims, with a differentiated design for the front and rear wheels. While the rim intended for the front wheel should be correspondingly wider, a reduced cross-section is used for the rear wheel. While grip, low weight, stiffness and manoeuvrability are the most important factors at the front, comfort, resistance and high-performance power transmission are the decisive parameters at the rear.
WIDE CONSTRUCTION. Whether 25.5 mm, 27.5 mm or 29.5 mm, the inner rim width is wide in all variants, which not only allows for a larger air volume, but also increases efficiency, comfort and grip in curves. If a correspondingly wide rim is used in conjunction with a relatively narrow tyre, tyre flutter can be reduced on changing surfaces and control of the bike can be improved accordingly.
OFFSET DESIGN WITHOUT HOOKS. The asymmetric profile with 2.3 or 2.1 mm offset increases the lateral stiffness of the rim without increasing the weight. The Hookless design also benefits the lateral stiffness. Compared to a standard hooked rim, the hookless design also offers greater durability and impact resistance.

Heavy Duty (HD) Building Concept | To achieve a high level of resistance, the Heavy Duty design combines a targeted choice of materials with an optimal rim geometry. Thanks to the interaction of high-strength carbon or aluminium with the offset construction, DUKE HD rims absorb most shocks and impacts, making them perfect for any type of terrain.
DUKE Original Profile | In 2 words, Duke Technology. DUKE is proprietor of the manufacturing tools and processes for its alloy rims and of the moulds for its carbon models. This enables them to offer you some of the most technically-advanced rims with a wider profile, offset and the result of many years of experience.
Tubeless Ready | DUKE's Tubeless compatible rims (UST, Tubeless Ready and NoTubes) only require some DUKE rim tape and a Tubeless Ready valve. They can also be used in a classic clincher set up (tyre + inner tube).
Asymmetric Design (Offset) | By offsetting, the wheel’s lateral strength and its stability can be increased without adding weight. Rim drillings are off-centre to optimise bracing angles for a stronger, more rigid wheel. In addition, an offset improves the balance between of the spoke tension between the drive and non-drive side as well as durability over the long-term.
Antiburp System | The "Burp-Free" system holds the tyre bead securely in position regardless of tyre pressure and ground conditions. This prevents the tyre from coming off the rim even at maximum speed. As the tyre is prevented from being pushed sideways towards the centre of the rim, there is no risk of sudden air loss even when cornering.
