The e*thirteen Optimus folding tire is designed to combine maximum traction and minimum rolling resistance for the Trail. The large-volume design provides a lot of comfort and thanks to the special carcass construction remains low rolling resistance even at low tire pressure.

The profile design of the Optimus was provided with many small lugs along the tread, which should improve the acceleration and climbing properties. Sipes on the center lugs run alternately horizontally and vertically to improve grip during braking as well as cornering. Small nobbs in the transition area are said to provide confident turn-in, while the large tread blocks on the outside of the tire effortlessly dig into loose surfaces for traction at any lean angle.
