The Vela is particularly characterized by its generous space in the inner tent and in the large, half-sided weather-protected vestibule. The triangular footprint of the inner tent offers quite a bit of extra space in addition to the sleeping area. An EXPED mat size LW also finds good space in the inner tent.
In good weather, the vestibule can also be fully opened to provide a view of nature. With a branch, one side of the outer tent door can even be stretched open as a small canopy. The outer tent can also be used alone as a closed tarp for two people.

DAC Featherlite:
Combining techniques developed for Featherlite with DAC's proprietary TH72M alloy allowed the development of the world's first tent pole system to combine different diameters in the same row of poles. This gives designers greater control over the shape of the tent. Normal tent poles, when bent, form a shape with low wall angles and most of the headroom in the center of the tent. With the DAC pole system, the tent can be made much rounder with steeper side walls.
