PF30 is a variant of the BB30 design. The PF 30 design uses BB30 size bearings pre-installed in bearing cups. The bearing and cup are pressed into the PF30 bottom bracket shell.
Pro-Tour Road Teams and World Cup Road Teams use ceramic bearings to gain every advantage. Testing shows speed increases approaching 4%, i.e., over 1 km a rider can gain20-40 m for the same energy output - more than enough distance for a definitive win. FSA bearings combine ceramic balls with super low friction seals, top-grade metals and special lubricant: an optimized system. For three seasons, FSA equipped riders have been winning Olympic medals, World Championships and Grand Tours with these bearings. Bearing friction is proportionally more important the slower you ride, unlike aerodynamics. Ceramic bearings last 5-10 times longer than steel bearings.
Please note: The Pressfit Ceramic PF-30 Road bottom bracket is also suited for K-Force Light BB386 EVO crankset by using the FSA bottom bracket adaptors for BB386 EVO cranksets.
