Giro Montaro MIPS MTB Helmet Details:

Bikers who ride with goggles will love the Montaro™ MIPS. Full goggle integration is ensured by the anti-slip zone on the back of the helmet and the P.O.V. Plus™ visor, which can be pushed way up when goggles need to be placed on the front of the helmet. Yet another great feature is the full integration of a "break-away" mount for a camera or helmet light.

The MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) consists of a movable shell inside the helmet that follows the movement of the head (10-15mm) and absorbs any rotational energy that may occur during falls to protect the brain.

The Roc Loc® Air Fit System has the same features as the Roc Loc® 5, plus it impressively increases airflow and ventilation inside the helmet. The unique design creates a small air cushion between the helmet shell and the head, allowing the riding wind to flow and cool undisturbed without sacrificing fit and comfort. The size adjustment goes easily and in micro-grids with two fingers. In addition, the system can be adjusted in height, ensuring a perfect fit of the helmet.

The Super Fit™ Engineering sizing system is the foundation of Giro's product design and development process. Giro's many years of experience allow them to draw on a vast amount of measurement data from a wide variety of head and face shapes during development. After a wide variety of intensive tests in Giro's laboratories, the product is subjected to further tough practical tests and put through its paces by Giro's team riders. This is followed by optimization until a maximum fit and comfort is achieved. Compromises regarding quality and functionality are not made by Giro.

The X-Static pads are extremely comfortable, have heat-reflecting and -shielding properties and provide a pleasant climate and increased comfort. X-Static® is a pure silver provided Fasser, the bacteria and thus the odors that form them, no chance. The pads are machine washable.

With the In-Mold construction, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single operation during foaming. The helmet becomes, without additional weight, thereby even more resistant. This production process also makes it possible to form significantly better ventilation systems and vents. In-Mold helmets are, compared to traditional helmets, thus lighter and have significantly better ventilation systems.

The Roll Cage™ is a reinforcement made of particularly impact-resistant Nylon®, which is embedded directly in the EPS inner foam. It provides an extra measure of stability and safety.

Wind Tunnel Ventilation is Giro's proprietary system of internal channels and active vents that channel cool, fresh air over and around your head, forcing out exhausting heat and stale air.

The P.O.V. Plus™ vis or features an adjustment mechanism that allows you to adjust the visor up and down in 3 stages. In addition, the visor can be pushed up so far that, for example, during a break, the goggle can be pushed onto the helmet. The adjustment goes easily one-handed and while driving.
