A rope developed specially for glacier trekking and for skiers and mountaineers - suitable for rappelling, haul maneuvers or crevasse rescues. The Dry treatment also gives the rope maximum safety even in the most adverse conditions, by ensuring that the cord absorbs practically no water and does not freeze in low temperatures. In abrasion tests, Dry ropes also achieve higher abrasion resistance in comparison with conventionally treated ropes of the same diameter.
Features of the Mammut 6.0 Glacier Cord
- Dry treatment which enables the cord to offer maximum safety in even the most adverse conditions. The Dry treatment ensures that the cord absorbs practically no water and does not freeze at low temperatures. Also in abrasion tests, Dry cords achieve a higher abrasion resistance in comparison with conventionally treated cords of the same diameter.
- The 6.0 Glacier Cord Dry is an ultra-light weight of only 25 g/m.
- The rope is characterized by its minimalistic packing volume.
- Extra grippy aramid sheath construction for easy handling, high friction while rappelling, low abrasion and also to aid in braking when arresting a crevasse fall
- Fulfills the 4 kN minimum breaking strength requirements with TIBLOC and MICRO TRAXION. Tested in accordance with EN 567.
- Hyperstatic cord with an elongation of less than 2 %, which increases the efficiency of rescue maneuvers and eliminates the bungee effect during rappels or fall arrest in a crevasse
- Space saving bag which can be used also as a throw bag for rappelling maneuvers
Rope Testing: Certified Drop Tower
Excellent durability thanks to the Coating Finish on the core and sheath: In abrasion tests, DRY ropes achieve 50% higher abrasion resistance than ropes of the same diameter with a conventional finish. Sealing the core and sheath provides protection from dirt and increases the rope's durability.
Rope Testing: Rope Abrasion Testing The combination of Coated Core and Coated Sheath Technologiy gives DRY ropes lasting water and dirt repellent properties. DRY ropes scored 1% on the UIAA water absorption tests.
Rope Testing: UIAA Water Repellency Test
DRY ropes cover the full range of applications from sport and gym climbing to alpine mountaineering and ice climbing. DRY ropes make an impression with maximum performance, maximum safety, maximum durability and comfortable handling.
