The Maxxis Rekon+ performs very well on every daily tour, but is also quiet as reliable on fast rides through the forest, in All Mountain use and at rough terrain. Its 120 tpi casing adapts perfectly to the surface and features a fast rolling tread design. As TR (Tubeless Ready) tire the Ikon+ with EXO side panel protection is designed for the riding without tube and with sealant. But like all TR tires it can also be driven with a tube.
The 3C MaxxTerra is an intermediate compound configuration used in Maxxis enduro and freeride tires. A smooth operation at climbing, an excellent grip and a long lifetime are its qualities. The MaxxTerra compound is softer and offers more traction than the 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than the MaxxGrip.
The TR (Tubeless Ready) square bead profile enables an easy assembling of the setup. For that an insulating rubber layer was applied on full length to the bead profile.
The new EXO+ Protection construction combines two of the best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO.
The SilkShield layer surrounds the entire tire from bead to bead, the EXO layer is mounted on the sidewalls. Together, the EXO+ has the following advantages:
* compared to the proven, stable EXO casing
Tires with EXO+ protection are designed for aggressive trail riding and Enduro racing, and especially for the higher torque and weight of E-MTBs. First, there are wide versions of the popular Minion DHF, Minion DHr II and Rekon with EXO+ casings.
