After nearly 20 years, Patagonia's R1® fabric is still the benchmark for alpine efficiency and tuned to the needs of technical extreme athletes. The key to the R1® Hoody's legendary versatility is its grid fleece interior made from Polartec® Power Grid™. This is the lightest and most breathable fabric ever and is exclusive to Patagonia. It's stretchy, retains warmth and compresses into the smallest of spaces. For performance sports and more mobility, Patagonia makes the sides, close-fitting hood and webbing area from lighter and extra stretch lattice fleece. A long, minimalist front zipper optimizes temperature regulation and has a soft slider cover to protect the chin; offset shoulder seams provide comfort under pack straps. When it gets hot, the sleeves can be easily pushed up, and when it's cold, thumbholes inconspicuously inserted into the seam provide the best protection. The hem is now 2.5 cm longer for comfort under a climbing harness. Features a zippered chest pocket on the outside left and durable Polygiene® odor inhibitor.
