Paul Component Racer Medium Road Center-Mount Center-Pull - Recressed - Rear Rim Brake - polished

The Racer is a center-pull Caliper brake with medium-length brake legs and decent space to the tire.
Here the rear wheel version is offered with short Regressed Center bolts for Short-Pull Road brake levers.

It is based on the classic Mafac mid-pull brake and has been updated here with modern materials and manufacturing processes. The CNC-machined T-profile of its brake legs gives it a lot of stiffness under heavy load. This ensures a crisp pressure point.
The brake pad carriers can be adjusted in height in Slots and of course also in their alignment with the spherical washers. The brake leg length can be varied from 47 mm to 57 mm (measured diagonally from the center bolt mount to the upper edge of the brake pads).
Compared to the Braze-On version, an additional center part is used here which is attached to the bike and clamps the brake leg.
As with all Paul Component brakes, the oversized and sealed sliding sleeves are also installed here, which are manufactured with a tolerance of one thousandth of an inch. They keep the movement of the brake arm always supple and an independent wire spring with a square cross-section returns it to its original position in a sleek and balanced way. The return force of the spring can be adjusted from the front.
The quick release mechanism for unhooking one side of the brake arm when removing the wheel is kept very simple and yet always reliable.
