The idea for the Gravel Gaiter came from PEARL iZUMi's own experience with mud and wet ground during gravel races. They were looking for a solution that prevents mud, sand or gravel from getting into the shoes. Inspired by the Scree Gaiters from trail running, a bike-specific version was developed that offers maximum breathability and durability to withstand even the most adverse conditions. The zipper with locking function ensures that the Gravel Gaiter does not slip, and the centrally placed Hypalon sole strap does not affect the surefootedness even during demanding walking passages.
