At the age of 15, Tom Ritchey welded together his first bike in his parents' garage more than 50 years ago. Since then, he has been riding, researching, designing and building legendary bike frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists, influenced the bike industry and won countless championships.
The Ritchey Swiss Cross owes its name to cyclocross and MTB legend Thomas Frischknecht. The first version from 1994 was an uncompromising racing machine, which was developed only for it to brettern through the dirt like no other. Under Frischi, the Swiss Cross won numerous victories and became one of the most popular frames in the Ritchey lineup. It was the successful combination of Tom's frame building experience and Frischi's racing dominance. While maintaining the exquisite handling characteristics that have been known for decades, the Swiss Cross features modern standards such as flat mount brake mounts and thru axles. Built with Ritchey's proprietary double-butted Logic tubeset, the frame remains lightweight as well as compliant, offering the winning combination of confident responsiveness as well as razor-sharp handling.
In honor of its 50th anniversary, Ritchey presents this special 50th Anniversary Edition of the Swiss Cross. This limited edition received the iconic red Ritchey paint job and is adorned with logos that reference the company's history.
