The inspiration for the eponymous handlebar was the topography and Tom Ritchey's pioneering rides on the remote Trails, broken tarmac and rough gravel roads in the mountains surrounding Butano State Park in Northern California.
Since its introduction, Ritchey's Butano dropbar has been popular with Gravel lovers and road cyclists alike. While its wide Drop Flare offers adventurous riders a higher level of control and confidence over traditional road handlebars, the flat Drop and short Reach provide enough comfort to spend endless days off-road.
Compared to the original Butano handlebar, the ergonomic and at the same time aerodynamic shape of the handlebar's top section guarantees even better support for the hands in the current model. In addition, the possibility of internal cable routing (full or partial) was added.
In the Comp version of the Butano Gravel handlebar double butted aluminum 6061 is used.
Shimano Di2: yes (EW-RS910 Junction Box)
