GORE-TEX® Insulated Comfort

The GORE-TEX® membrane is an exclusive technical fabric that is heat-sealed and contains about 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. So while water droplets cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane, water vapor, i.e. sweat in gaseous form, escapes easily.
