The Barbican's "basic frame" consists of a water-resistant cotton material, shoulder strap and buckles made of premium leather. If the bag were made entirely of leather, the Barbican would no longer meet the characteristics of a sporty and comfortable shoulder bag and would be significantly too heavy. Once properly adjusted to the rider, the Barbican can be worn loosely over the shoulder.

The special shoulder strap can be additionally fastened around the hips while cycling. This keeps the bag firmly fixed to the body and can not slip. The wide shoulder strap ensures maximum comfort and distributes the weight over a large area. For increased stability while cycling, the hip belt can be pulled tighter at both ends of the strap and securely fixed with the "Sam Brown" attachment.

The lid of the Barbican is securely closed via a magnet. On the outside under the lid are two small open pockets, two pockets for pens or pencils, and a large zippered pocket. The back of the bag is equipped with two practical large pads for maximum comfort on the back.
