The Premio Bibshort was designed to provide the ultimate in long-distance comfort - and to be your new favorite bibshort. Those are big words, but a lot of development work went into these cycling shorts to back up that claim. For the best possible comfort, the seat pad plays a leading role. Our top model, the Progetto X² Air Seamless, is used for this. It consists of two separate components: the soft, elastic Skin Care Layer on the skin, whose sole purpose is to prevent any friction, and underneath it the Cushioning Layer as a padding layer with two foam densities as well as breathable, perforated gel inserts under the ischial tuberosities and perineal area.

The focus on comfort is also reflected in the construction of these pants by eliminating unnecessary seams. The pants consist of just three panels. Castelli has developed a new type of material that adapts to the needs of different body zones. The "Raw cut" leg cuffs and rubberized threads guarantee a perfectly non-slip fit on the legs. At the thighs, the fabric becomes lighter, while its four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support. In the pelvic area, compression and support increase to keep seat pads and everything else in place. The material is thicker here to avoid any embarrassing transparency.

Castelli has also developed new straps that have enough elasticity to hold the shorts in place without the need for an extra hem that might cut into the shoulder area. A perforated material is used at the back for better cooling. We've taken the "less is more" approach to construction, with minimalist laser-cut logos and a subtle finish. That's why it looks as high quality as it feels. You can tell that every component, every seam stitch, every detail has been polished to the max.
