Carbon CMPTZN – Stylish. Elegant. Unique.
For the CMPTZN model, the proven Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels have received a restyling that is characterized by a distinctive aesthetic. However, the minimalist look should not hide the multitude of technical features that make the carbon CMPTZ DB version even the crowning glory of the Racing Zero range. As a reference point among Fulcrum's multipurpose wheels, the model represents the ideal companion for any cycling enthusiast, especially on climbs in the double-digit percentage range.
The rims of Racing Zero CMPTZ DB wheels feature a double unidirectional carbon surface. To make the rims more robust at critical points, Fulcrum engineers resorted to ARC TECHNOLOGY, where strategically placed reinforcements increase resistance. For example, twill carbon weaves are used in the nipple area.
The hubs are also not exempt from the redesign and have the renowned CULT™ ceramic bearings compared to the previous model. Through the use of a special steel for the bearing races, these not only offer unparalleled smoothness, but have also helped to make each wheel 10 grams lighter. In terms of rim-hub connection, the Racing Zero CMPTZN relies on aerodynamic aluminum spokes and Fulcrum's signature Two-to-One™ spoke pattern.

ARC Technology | The systematic use of material, exclusively where it is needed in coordination with the intended use of the rim and wheel. This approach has been realized by Fulcrum with the ARC technology, in which the orientation of the carbon fibers or the laying of the carbon foils in their shape is based on the stresses of racing use. The choice of carbon type is also taken into account in this concept and is done depending on the direction of the forces acting during acceleration and braking, as well as the stress points that occur.
RDB™ (Rim Dynamic Balance) | The concept is simple and ingenious: the mass of the rim joint is balanced with an equivalent mass positioned exactly opposite. The method of balancing differs depending on the rim material and series. However, the result is always the same: a perfectly balanced wheel during rotation.
Anti-Rotation System™ | To take the concept of the spoking system to a new level of performance, Fulcrum engineers have designed the spokes and hub shell to form a firm and solid unit. This results in the spokes never losing their initial tension, keeping the wheel always centered and correspondingly responsive. It also preserves the spoke position determined in the wind tunnel, ensuring the best possible aerodynamics in all conditions.
CULT™ (Ceramic Ultimate Level Technology) | The concept is based on an exclusive Cronitect® steel used for the bearing race surfaces, which requires no grease for lubrication but only a small layer of oil. Combined with extremely precise processing, the high-quality ceramic balls enable a drastic reduction in the coefficient of friction. The result is a nine-fold increase in smoothness compared to impellers equipped with conventional bearings.
Two-to-One™ (2:1) | With its "2:1 Two-to-One™ Spoke Ratio" patent, Fulcrum solves a classic problem of cycling. By using twice the number of spokes in the critical areas, it compensates for the loss of energy caused by the rotation of the cassette under full load, which causes the spokes to yield at the freewheel and a corresponding loss of tension in the rim. By practically two spokes take over the task of one, the torsion of the wheel is reduced and the power transmission is much more efficient. The improved balance of spoke tension also benefits the fatigue strength of the rim, hub and spokes.
MoMag™ | A magnet and a lot of expertise. With the simple yet ingenious "Mounting Magnet" system, it is possible to realize wheels that do not require any holes on the upper rim flange and can still be spoked by clamping conventional nipples. The nipples are inserted via the valve opening and then "guided" by a magnet to the connection point with the rim. No holes in the rim bed mean a consistently uniform rim with no critical points or fractures. Moreover, with Clincher profiles, no rim tape is required, which in turn has a positive effect on weight. The advantages are numerous: longer durability and greater fatigue strength as well as higher stiffness and acceleration.
