The lightweight Galfer Wave brake discs are made of high-quality, laser-cut stainless steel featuring a high carbon content. The carbon ensures high heat resistance, especially in the brake track area.
In addition, the quiet, low-vibration Wave rotors feature powerful, progressive braking performance that provides consistent brake force distribution in both wet and dry conditions. An effective anti-corrosion finish ensures long-lasting durability. The Wave Floating brake disc owes its unique look to the black painted steel spider in combination with the rivets available in different colors.
To further improve the braking performance of the 2nd generation, the spider and friction ring have been revised. Optimized joints ensure a lower overall weight combined with higher resistance. The thickness of the brake disc was increased from 1.8 to 2.0 mm to achieve more stiffness and even better heat stability.

Advantages of the Galfer Wave Floating brake disc rotors
The Wave Floating brake discs are inspired by motocross and designed for the demanding Enduro and Downhill disciplines, where the demands on the brakes are higher than in any other MTB discipline. This orientation also makes them suitable for use on E-Bikes, where higher heat resistance is required as well.
The True Floating system is based on the slight axial movements between the braking surface and the carrier. If necessary, the TF technology achieves exact alignment between the pads and the disc during braking. This mobility reduces vibrations and provides a powerful, precise and stable brake force distribution. In addition, the thermal separation of pad and carrier prevents distortion of the brake disc and achieves more even wear of the brake pads.
