The HANWAG Bluecliff ES is a shoe that provides reliable and stable support on a wide variety of hikes thanks to its functional features, robust material and comfortable fit.

The high-quality upper material is made of nubuck and suede leather, which is used on the heel and toe cap and is particularly robust. Dry feet are ensured by the so-called Derby cut with water tab tongue construction and the PFC-
free EcoShell membrane.

A high comfort factor comes from the use of the Hike Pro outsole: with this sole, four millimeters of tread depth, larger-than-average lugs with a wide contact surface and a particularly grippy rubber compound meet the ground. A special midsole construction (3D IPU) guarantees a perfect fit and harmonious rolling: the combination of stabilizing and expanded PU and a stabilizer made of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene makes it possible. Durable and high-quality metal eyelets and loops without rivets, in combination with 2-zone lacing realized via clamping hooks, ensure improved heel hold and optimal fixation of the foot in the shoe.

A look at the sustainable details:

The material of the flexible hiking boot comes almost exclusively from European suppliers and is manufactured entirely in Europe. Probably the most important detail is the completely PFC-free EcoShell membrane, which is installed in this model. Waterproof, breathable, sustainable this self-developed PU membrane is based on a complex hydrophilic system that achieves waterproofness and breathability while completely avoiding the use of fluorocarbons. The hydrophilic part absorbs body moisture and releases it to the outside through evaporation. The membrane is part of a multi-layer laminate. In the case of the Bluecliff ES, a four-layer laminate is processed, which guarantees outstanding
breathability and high comfort - especially important on extended day tours. The fourth layer also gives the shoe an additional layer of insulation, making it ideal for spring and fall hikes.
