The NewRun BUGrip® is made for those who train mainly on asphalt and gravel roads all year round. The focus during development was on comfort and traction. The mesh upper is water-repellent and ensures optimal running characteristics with a particularly low weight. To leave room to move in cold temperatures, the last of the NewRun is shaped to keep the foot in a roomy toe box and straight toe line. For comfort and stability, especially on longer sessions, the midsole is well cushioned.

Outsole: Equipped with 17 dynamic carbide spikes, the BUGRip® outsole provides grip on a variety of surfaces - from wet asphalt, mud and snow to pure ice. The tip of the spikes is made of high-quality tungsten carbide, a material 25 times harder than steel.

Technologies

BUGrip®

This is the name of ICEBUG traction technology for extra slippery conditions. The sole is equipped with a special rubber compound together with 17 steel spikes, which react dynamically to different surface hardness and body weight. When the sole comes into contact with a hard surface, the studs move into the interior of the rubber - on dry asphalt they largely sink in, offering an almost unchanged running feel and only a soft clack indicates that the anti-slip is in play. When the outsole hits a slushy or icy surface, the lugs exert dynamic pressure on the ground. This causes the cleats to adhere to the surface and and provide the foot with a secure and non-slip grip. As a result, BUGrip® soles work on a wide variety of surfaces - from wet asphalt to pure ice. There is little to no wear and tear: The tip of the spikes is made of tungsten carbide, a material 25 times harder than steel and nearly as robust as diamond.
