BoXXer – The Next Round
Revised by the fastest racers in the world, for the fastest racers in the world. Current top athletes were involved in the extensive development work which raises the RockShox BoXXer to a new level. Not only have the chassis and air suspension been completely redesigned, but the damping has also undergone a general overhaul.

Confidence & control. No compromises. For a rider to be able to ride any line exactly the way he wants, it depends on the perfect balance between ride quality, steering precision and stiffness. To achieve the right combination of bending and torsional stiffness, the engineers at RockShox rely on stanchions with 38 mm diameter for the BoXXer. These harmonize perfectly with the lowers thanks to coordinated wall thicknesses. And this is not only the prerequisite for ideal driving characteristics, but also for the fact that you are the one who steers the suspension fork, and not the other way around.
Built to handle the pressure. The BoXXer's DebonAir+ twin-tube design is seriously different from previous RockShox air suspension systems. The ride is so close to a steel spring that it's uncanny. Off-piste, the BoXXer is incredibly responsive and smooth, but when the big, hard hits come, it really wants to go. The best part, though, is the infinite adjustability that comes with the help of air pressure as well as the use of the tried and true Bottomless Tokens.
No guts, no glory. The revolutionary Charger 3 RC2 damping was already used in the Pike, Lyrik and ZEB suspension forks (model year 2023) and now also provides in the Downhill model with the longest suspension travel for furore. By eliminating the so-called "Cross Talk" behavior – i. e. the influence that the HSC and LSC settings have on each other –, a truly independent tuning is possible. More damping therefore no longer means that your hands have to suffer from a hard ride.
Smooth is fast. The BoXXer's bushings get thirsty, so RockShox has found a way to keep them constantly lubricated. To give the friction the run, the stanchions have oil flow ports on the underside that allow more lubricant to circulate through the bushings. Another advantage occurs when the suspension fork fully utilizes the suspension travel during a violent impact. In this case, the air volume is evenly distributed over the lower bushing to ensure an even spring stiffness that can be relied on at all times.
DebonAir+ Twin-Tube | The double tube design has a separate air chamber located inside the stanchions. By increasing the diameter to 38 mm, the spring characteristic became too progressive even for hardcore Downhill racers. The Twin-Tube concept and an increased diameter guide rod (14 instead of 10 mm) counteract this and create additional negative volume for the air spring, which dampens small shocks better. At the bottom of the stroke, a puncture protection ensures a soft, rattle-free landing even on the biggest drops. In addition, the different spring volumes can be precisely controlled: positive, negative and Casting (trapped air in the lowers unit).
ButterCups | The golden solution. Thanks to their low-amplitude material, ButterCups filter out 20 % of unwanted vibrations before they even reach the rider's hands. High-frequency vibrations are in turn absorbed by two rubber pucks on the golden mounts at the end of the damper and air spring before they pass through the fork into the handlebar. In this way, the ButterCups not only reduce overall hand and arm fatigue, but also provide better feel and control on the Trail.
Bottomless Tokens | These volume spacers are used to influence the spring characteristic curve. By inserting the tokens, the air volume is reduced, which not only leads to a smoother response of the suspension fork, but also means a higher final progression.
SKF Wiper Seals | Minimize friction! Keep dirt out! Working with SKF, the experts in seals, RockShox succeeded in developing the ultra-low friction Wiper Seals. These reduce effort and provide an unparalleled chassis feel while keeping the fork safe from contaminants.
Maxima Plush | Both the Maxima Plush Fluid and the Maxima Plush Dynamic Suspension Lube are characterized by their friction-reducing effect. While the damper oil also minimizes damper noise, the lubricant convinces with properties that not only extend the durability of the fork, but also improve its performance.
SAG Gradients | If you don't adjust your suspension properly, you might as well be riding someone else's bike. But why waste plastic clips or rulers to adjust the suspension over and over again? RockShox prints the SAG markings directly on the stanchions of the fork for easy and accurate setup.
