The Wildfire Edge is a flexible technical approach shoe that quickly and easily converts from a hiking shoe to a climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system was developed together with mountain guides and professional climbers from the Dolomites and tested extensively - it is so simple and clever. When you pass the laces through the additional eyelet to the front and tighten, the foot is pulled forward like a climbing shoe. The result: climbing with the toe and stepping on friction becomes easier and safety on technical terrain improves. Switching back to a hiking boot works by simply loosening the laces. This widens the toe box and provides greater comfort while hiking.

Underneath the highly abrasion-resistant upper (suede and microfiber) is the thin, highly breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane, which ensures maximum comfort in a wide range of weather conditions. Feet stay dry in wet weather, but if you start to sweat during high-intensity movement, the moisture that builds up can still escape to the outside.

To improve precision when climbing, the Wildfire Edge also features an Edging Plate, an insole plate under the forefoot that adds extra stiffness to this area that is important when climbing. The rest of the insole remains flexible to ensure a high level of comfort and a natural rolling motion.

The Pomoca Speed MTN sole is made of an extra adhesive rubber compound for high friction on slabs and other smooth rock structures. The outsole design provides a balance between grip and traction and the special lug pattern has proven itself on muddy and soft ground. It gives effective grip - in dry as well as wet conditions.

The Exa Shell structure provides additional torsional stability: it gives the foot protective support and prevents slipping in the shoe. In addition, the foot is protected by the 3F system, for a precise fit and firm hold while remaining flexible. Climbing Lacing, the climbing shoe lacing, goes all the way to the toes. The Wildfire Edge features Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+), a specialized footbed that can be customized to fit the shape of your foot with interchangeable sections.
