Due to the tight supply situation for individual components, bikes may sometimes be delivered with deviating equipment. However, any alternative components used will be of a corresponding quality to that of the original components.
This enduro mountain bike is a conqueror of trails and climbs - and the absolute winner among mountain bikes. The tuned version is only equipped with high quality components, so you can easily get up and down everywhere - even if your name is not Fairclough!
With the HMX carbon fiber, SCOTT has decisively developed the already high quality carbon fiber HMF, which is used in the bike industry. HMX is the fiber used by SCOTT and has over 20% more stiffness than a HMF fiber of the same weight class. This unique material allows SCOTT engineers to develop super light bikes with excellent riding characteristics.
Thanks to the TwinLoc suspension system, the rider can effectively control the frame, fork and shock as a complete system. The added control makes for extra fun riding, especially on descents. TwinLoc allows for nuanced fine-tuning of the suspension. Furthermore, not only can the compression damping be changed, but also the spring characteristics to dynamically change the geometry of the bike.
Frame protection played an important role in the development of the Ransom. An integrated protector under the bottom bracket protects this sensitive area. A specially designed chainstay and seatstay protector is implemented and ensures a smooth ride.
The Trunnion standard ensures metric shock size standards and improved mounting. The result is that the shock has more travel for the same size. Trunnion also provides structural gains. Shorter shocks allow SCOTT to build very compact frames.
Furthermore, the 29 inch wheels improve roll. The large wheels make it easier to ride on difficult surfaces like roots or rocks. Another important aspect is the higher traction compared to 26" wheels due to the larger tire contact area.
If necessary, this model can be converted from 29" to 27.5" wheels. You don't need to change the fork, all you need to do is make a small adjustment to the shock, change your wheels and off you go. The shock adjustment ensures a similar bottom bracket height when changing wheels, so the handling remains almost identical for both wheel sizes.
