Shimano GRX - Explore Beyond
Instead of telling gravel riders what they needed, Shimano asked them what they wanted for their offroad adventures. The result are the Shimano GRX components which represent the first series especially developed for riding on rough roads and through gravel. The Shimano GRX sets itself apart from the rest of the component world with its gravel specific ergonomics, optimized gearing options, rugged reliability as well as a quiet and stable drivetrain.
Shimano GRX shift/brake set consisting of the ST-RX810 STI lever with
SERVOWAVE technology and the hydraulic BR-RX810 caliper with ceramic pistons for excellent braking performance.
Shimano GRX ST-RX810 shift/brake lever
The Shimano GRX ST-RX600 dual control lever provides Gravel inspired ergonomics both for the bracket design to accommodate every kind of drop bar and for the lever itself featuring a curved shape and an anti-slip coating for greater mixed-terrain control. In terms of shifting performance the 2x11-speed GRX STI levers are at the same high level like Shimano's top tier group's road bike shifters. In contrast the braking performance is optimized by the brake lever's rotary axle which is positioned 18 mm higher than usual and Shimano's
SERVOWAVE technology improving the lever's modulation ability. In order to meet the individual needs of the driver, the hydraulic brake lever offers reach and free stroke adjustment as well.
SERVOWAVE
Because the brake lever absorbs a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads have disc contact more quickly and it remains more lever travel to adjust braking force. That is why SERVO WAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.
Shimano GRX BR-RX810 disc brake caliper
Never hesitate to tackle rough surfaces with the hydraulic Shimano GRX BR-RX810 caliper. In doing so
Ice Tech ensure excellent heat dissipation while the BR-RX810's 2 ceramic pistons guarantee excellent braking performance under all conditions. The Flat Mount system makes it possible to attach the disc brake caliper directly at frame or fork. Trouble-free and simple maintenance is provided by the proven
One Way Bleeding concept and the
Easy Hose Joint System which simplifies brake hose exchanges (brake hose sold separately).
Ice Technologies
The fading which can occur to disc brake rotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negative impact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice-Tech disc brake rotor and brake pad to realize the cooling technology for consistent performance. The disc brake rotor blade which has a 3 layer-sandwich structure of stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiation performance achieving a lower surface temperature. Aluminium cooling fins have been adopted the brake pad improving the radiation performance even further. In combination the disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long pad life, less noise, less fade and lightweight.
J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System)
At brake systems with J-Kit hose joint the brake lever features an integrated olive what makes an easy brake hose installation and removal possible.
