Trail Runner Free 2 is a comfortable and lightweight headlamp for those who like to run. Its functions and light beam are optimized for the needs of a runner. Choose the basic version if you don't run every day, but still value a long burn time. The basic version of the Trail Runner Free 2 series is used with 3 x AAA batteries (not included) and the hybrid battery compartment.

All Trail Runner Free lights have the power cord integrated into the headband. Silva calls it Free Technology - a pleasant headlamp experience without annoying cables or tangled cords. No hassle - just unleash the power.

Hybrid battery compartment included
The Hybrid Battery Compartment can be used with either AAA batteries or the rechargeable Silva Hybrid Battery Pack. This means you have the freedom to upgrade the headlamp if you want to add a rechargeable battery to it. The battery compartment features easy-grip surfaces and has an integrated red safety tail light - for added visibility and safety.

Customized light distribution
With the 2nd generation Trail Runner Free, cooling has been optimized with a more powerful cooler that allows the light to produce up to 550 lumens (depending on battery type) while maintaining its comfort and light weight. Ultra runners were a key part of the design process and the Trail Runner Free 2 series is designed with running in mind in every way. All three headlamps in this series feature Silva Intelligent Light. That means you get dual light beam technology in your headlamp, with light settings that are perfect for running. The unique combination of a long range headlamp and a close floodlight results in less head movement, better control, improved balance, less fatigue and increased speed.

Comfort down to the smallest detail
Although Silva focuses on technological breakthroughs, they have not forgotten the importance of optimizing weight. Every part of this headlamp has been compressed and the headlamp unit weighs only 61 grams (without batteries). The headlamp is perfectly balanced, easily adjustable and has a flat, soft textile extension cable that does not tangle. The headband is soft yet firm enough, with a silicone band on the inside to stay in place. The battery can be worn comfortably on the headband or kept warm in your pocket with the included textile extension cable to extend battery life.
