The Hanwag Makra Trek SF Extra Lady GTX trekking shoe is the right shoe for longer hikes and multi-day tours with a heavy backpack. HANWAG uses the StraightFit Extra last in this model. It combines the generous, wide toe box of the StraightFit last, which allows for a straight position of the big toe, with additional space in the forefoot area and in the ball area of the Wide last. As a result, it offers a great fit for people with a wider forefoot - or who want more room for their big toes. Despite the roomy toe box, the midfoot is firmly enclosed to ensure perfect support even on more difficult terrain. A secure fit in the forefoot and good overall stability is also provided by the optimized Ghilly lacing, which runs over textile loops to the toe box.
The HANWAG 2 Zone Lock with mechanical lace closure improves the fit in the heel area. Unlike conventional clamp lacing hooks, the mechanical lace closure stays firmly in place and cannot slip unless manually adjusted. The proven "Makra fit" encloses the foot and ensures excellent power transmission. Thus, foot and shoe form a single unit from heel to toe. The StraightFit Extra Last is combined with a cushioning PU midsole. And the Vibram Trekking SF outsole with its wide contact surface ensures robustness and stability. Thanks to the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, the foot stays dry even in wet weather. The upper made of Perwanger split leather is robust, breathable and durable.
