Insoles for stabilizing the transverse arches in the foot. Individualization with the foot. Whether high arch, low arch or medium arch - in collaboration with ex-runner-up triathlon World Champion and foot expert Björn Gustaffson, SQlab has developed insoles that support the specific requirements found in cycling for the weaknesses of the respective foot type.

They bring the power back onto the pedal and the foot into the correct position. Power saving, round pedal stroke and a healthy foot arch make the SQlab insoles a must for every foot in a cycling shoe! Suitable for all cycling shoes, but also for normal shoes which are used for cycling, as well as for other uses.

Features of the 214 Insoles:

  • Odour reducing surface layer material:
    Unique surface layer material improves the microclimate of the foot and avoids unpleasant odours,
  • Air Vents:
    Air vents under the middle foot keep the foot dry.
  • Non Slipping:
    Low profile design of the insole prevents it from moving in the shoe, creasing or wrinkling.
  • Trimming:
    By trimming to original sole in shoe, adaptable to multipe sizes. Just shorten the front and trim as little as possible and test in shoe.
  • Freeflex:
    Specially developed sole material for optimal dampening and perfect foot climate.
  • 3D³ ARCH:
    Three foot dependant three dimensional surface profiles for the individual foot print.
  • Washing:
    Wash with mild soap in cold water. Do not wring or put in dryer.



Function of the foot arch

The foot provides the first contact between human and the ground. In a healthy foot in normal position, the transverse- and longitudinal foot arches perform an important dampening role. The entire body weight needs to be carried by the foot when walking, while also reducing the load peaks on joints such as knees, hips, and spine. To do this, the foot arches subside upon ground contact of every step due to the load experienced, and the muscle tension builds them up again.

Foot biomechanics while cycling

Since the same type of force the foot uses when walking does not apply to cycling, the actual absorption function of the foot can be omitted. When the arch of the foot is lowered, it become tired and the direct force applied to the pedal is reduced. Excessive movement of the foot in cycling shoes can lead to nerve or vascular constrictions, which manifest in tingling or numbness.
