No matter how you define yourself as a rider, with SRAM Force 22 you will achieve a new personal best, because it does not compromise on quality, functionality and scope. SRAM has completely redesigned the Force and equipped it with all the major innovations of SRAM RED - without sacrificing cool looks, ergonomics, efficiency and light weight. In addition to this major overhaul, SRAM Force 22 / 1 / CX1 also offers twenty-two (eleven for Force 1 / CX1) usable gears, high shifting speed and precision that can only be achieved by SRAM RED, and a new elegant finish. The discreet SRAM Force group is suitable for rational people with an irrational passion for performance. It is SRAM's most exciting introduction in 2013 and is designed to satisfy every conceivable desire of every rider of every level - it's just waiting to beat your best performance.
Road bike and cyclocross braking systems have remained at a pretty medieval level. Sure, they're fancier and lighter, but rudimentary. While space-age technology has driven the development of frames and drivetrains, road bike braking technology has been stuck in the age of horseshoes and horse-drawn carriages. SRAM, with the Avid brand already a long time leader in hydraulic braking technology, has revolutionized the braking systems for road bikes and introduces hydraulic technology for versatile purposes: disc or rim brake - SRAM will stop what you have driven - faster and with better modulation.
The SRAM Force 22 / 1 / CX1 ErgoDynamics™ Hydraulic Shifter was spawned from the DNA of SRAM's "best in class": SRAM RED, which represents SRAM's most advanced thinking when it comes to the perfection of the interface between rider and bike.
SRAM has thoroughly tested the grip design - the transition between the handlebar and the grip rubbers, the grip structure, the finger grip width and the respective contact points with the brake lever. The result is an extremely comfortable, particularly individual fit, making the brake lever seem like a natural extension of the rider.
The ErgoDynamics™ design features three separate elements and will significantly improve the riding experience with SRAM DoubleTap levers:
DoubleTap® is SRAM's key technology that replaces time-honored technology. The combination of brake and shift lever has not proven itself. SRAM brake shifters have a brake lever that brakes and a shift lever that shifts. DoubleTap® shifts faster and easier. There is only one direction of movement. To shift up, a quick tap is all it takes. To shift to a lower gear, simply push the lever further down.
ZeroLoss stands for "zero loss." When the lever is pushed to shift up or down a gear, the cable is released immediately, providing zero loss of motion. There is no more idle time for the gear to engage. The gear is changed instantly and precisely
The new clamp allows for a better fit and adjustment for modern carbon and ergonomic handlebars.
Force 22 / 1 / CX1 Hydraulic brake levers are only combinable with SRAM Hydraulic Disc or Rim brake bodies. Only compatible with SRAM 11-speed rear derailleurs Red 22, Force 22, Force 1 / CX1, Rival 22 or Rival 1. Not compatible with rear derailleurs from other manufacturers.
