BB7 Mountain S - The smaller & more elegant mechanical disc brake.

The power is in the simplicity. Mechanical disc brakes have been a favorite of riders looking for control, durability, reliability and foolproof adjustment for many years. The special adjustment knob allows for tool-free and quick adjustment of the correct distance between pad and disc, even with worn brake pads. This possibility does not exist with hydraulic brakes. In addition, mechanical disc brakes can be combined with Avid's Speed Dial® levers for perfect tuning.

This revision of the proven BB7 Mountain includes new stainless steel small parts and a sleek black anodized finish - making the brakes look as fast as they feel. The great thing about the BB7S Mountain is their uncompromising performance. They give you precise, modulated power and control, as well as easy operation and adjustment. Plus, the lightweight Centerline discs keep weight in check so you can benefit from the performance boost on both climbs and descents.

Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™.

Another original Avid technology that makes your life easier - never before has a brake been easier to mount and adjust. With Avid's Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™, centering the caliper on the disc is literally a matter of seconds. Simply loosen the CPS™ screws a little, press the brake lever and tighten the screws again. Perfect alignment of the brake caliper in no time at all.

The caliper is suitable for mounting both as a front or rear brake! The brake is compatible with all V-brake brake levers. A perfect combination results with the Avid Speed Dial levers. With these you can additionally adjust the pressure point of the brake to your driving style.

Please note the maximum allowable brake disc diameter of your fork and frame!
