WEIGHT

Sensational: weight despite standard Goodridge steel flex line only 290 grams (80 cm line, filled, incl. pads, without brake disc/hardware).

ERGONOMY

Trickstuff has adopted the lever shape of their Direttissima and only changed the gear ratio of the lever. The often praised ergonomics of the Direttissima is thus preserved.

HANDLEBAR CLAMP

The two-piece milled handlebar clamp is significantly more stable than the previous band clamp and generously compensates for tolerances of the handlebar. An upgrade on the Direttissima - here the basic equipment.

TOOL-FREE LEVER WIDTH ADJUSTMENT

Tool-free lever width adjustment - popular with racers - for quickly setting up the brake for the next race track.

BRAKE HOSES

The MAXIMA comes with Beta Kevlar hoses.

SHIFT LEVER INTERFACE

For the MAXIMA shift lever interfaces are available for Sram and Shimano I-Spec I , I-Spec II as well as I-Spec-EV. These are mounted directly to the clamp using the existing screw. There are no additional parts. So you can also purchase these adapters later without having to buy parts twice. The Sram interface is flip-flop suitable and available exclusively in black anodized. We recommend using the handlebar inner mounting position of the shift lever when mounting on the Direttissima. The interfaces for Shimano I-Spec I are also flip-flop suitable and available in black anodized.

The I-Spec II interface is available as a left and right variant or I-Spec-EV interface (also in black anodized).

LIQUIDITY

DOT versus oil?

No other question occupies the braking minds of experts more than the question of brake fluid. It is more like a religious question than a technical one.

The fact is - and practice proves: Both work! For the Direttissima, Trickstuff has opted for oil, but not just any oil: Bionol by DANICO is an extremely high-boiling vegetable oil: 300° C - that's higher than the boiling point of DOT 5.1.

Result: even greater safety from boiling brake fluid.

Other advantages of Bionol are: It is extremely thin, it does not age, it does not attack the paint, and it is gentle on people and materials. The lubricating effect of the oil makes the braking feel even creamier. Even in winter at very low temperatures, Bionol remains thinner than competing mineral oils.

Bionol is the only biodegradable and truly harmless medium. It does not taste good, but would be usable even for salad preparation.

There is 3 ml of it in the Maxima's equalizer reservoir. That's more than any other brake on the market. So you can be sure that even if the brake pads are worn down to the backing plate and the brake disc is totally worn out, you will still have full braking power.

BRAKE PADS

The MAXIMA brake pad is Trickstuff brake pad 730 Power.

Tr!ckstuff has adopted the pad shape of the Hope V4 brake. This pad has a large surface area, contributing to the stability of the MAXIMA. Like all Trickstuff brakes, the MAXIMA is approved for use with third-party brake pads and discs.

MANUFACTURING

All major components of the brake are CNC machined from high quality 7075 aircraft aluminum and hand assembled in small batches.

Trickstuffs suppliers and finishers are located almost exclusively in the southern Black Forest. After milling, the raw parts are embellished by the neighboring anodizer. Anodizing also hardens the surface and makes it more resistant to scratches and corrosion. Even after years and many rides through wind and weather, the brake looks fresh and shiny.

RACING

Racing is in the blood of Trickstuff and their products. Since they are partly active or former active racers themselves, the use and support at competitions is especially important to them. This is not only a matter of honor, but also means important advantages in product development and quality assurance. What holds up and makes sense in tough racing use also brings advantages for our clientele.

That's why Trickstuff developed the MAXIMA together with the Polygon UR team. Mick Hannah and mechanic Jon Stout in particular worked closely with Tr!ckstuff. Prototypes of the MAXIMA have defied the toughest downhill tracks in the world since June 2018 and exceeded all expectations. Germany's downhill champion Nina Hoffmann was thrilled with the MAXIMA after an initial test ride and rode it at the 2018 World Championships in Lenzerheide.
