Details of the Giro Cinder MIPS helmet

The design is inspired by the classic aesthetics of the premium Synthe™ helmet. Key features include the Roc Loc® 5 Fit System, which allows the helmet to be adjusted vertically with just one hand. Air FX padding provides comfort on longer rides, and the helmet is equipped with MIPS to redirect impact energy and provide more protection in certain situations.

The MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) consists of a movable shell inside the helmet that follows the movement of the head (10-15mm) and absorbs any rotational energy in the event of a fall to protect the brain.

The Roc Loc® Air Fit System has the same properties as the Roc Loc® 5, but also impressively increases air flow and ventilation inside the helmet. The unique design creates a small air cushion between the helmet shell and the head, allowing the air to flow and cool the head without compromising on fit and comfort. Size adjustment is simple and can be done with two fingers using micro-grids. The height of the system can also be adjusted to ensure that the helmet fits perfectly.

With the in-mold construction, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single step during the foaming process. This makes the helmet even more resistant without adding weight. This production process also makes it possible to create significantly better ventilation systems and ventilation openings. Compared to traditional helmets, in-mold helmets are therefore lighter and have significantly better ventilation systems.

The Super Fit™ engineering sizing system is the basis of Giro's product design and development process. Giro's many years of experience allow them to draw on a vast amount of measurement data of different head and face shapes during development. After a wide variety of intensive tests in Giro's laboratories, the product is subjected to further tough practical tests and put through its paces by Giro's team riders. Optimization is then carried out until maximum fit and comfort are achieved. Giro makes no compromises in terms of quality and functionality.

The Roll Cage™ is a reinforcement made of particularly impact-resistant Nylon®, which is embedded directly into the EPS inner foam. It provides an extra level of stability and safety.

Wind Tunnel Ventilation is Giro's proprietary system of internal channels and active vents that channel cool, fresh air over and around your head, forcing out exhausting heat and stale air.
