The Shimano OT-SP41 housing reduces friction of the inner cable to an absolute minimum, so that the gearshift responds quickly and is easy to operate. The driver is relieved of shifting delays and high effort during shifting, especially in shift-intensive terrain or on long distances. Longitudinal steel wires inside stiffen the cables axially and ensure that forces are transmitted immediately for spontaneous and precise shifting.
Especially developed for the Shimano groups. Suitable for mountainbikes and road bikes with an inner cable diameter of 1.2 mm.
The radius of the curved cable routed to the rear derailleur (RD-R9100) is smaller compared to the radius created with other rear derailleurs. The OT-SP41 outer sleeve often used is too stiff for such a small radius, which can cause technical problems in the cable adjustment screw and hinder rapid installation and removal of the rear wheel. Such problems can be prevented by using the OT-RS900, as the OT-RS900 has a lower stiffness. OT-RS900 should only be used on the rear derailleur side. It should not be used on the shifter/brake lever side.
The length of the OT-RS900 should be adjusted according to the bicycle frame dimensions. This is necessary for optimum performance. The OT-RS900 should be cut from the correct side when adjusting the length. One of the two ends is flam-treated. This flam-treated end is inserted into the adjustment screw of the front derailleur/derailleur and should therefore remain there.
