Product Description:
Shimano GRX – United in Gravel
Gravel is the great equalizer. No matter who you are, where you come from or where you want to go. Gravel celebrates individuality. It welds together in a shared passion. It lays the foundation for friendships and creates memories for the ages. Whether you ride one kilometer or a hundred. Whether with professional equipment or without. With a 10-speed, 11-speed or 12-speed gear system. Whether on paved roads, forest roads, back roads – or no roads at all. It does not matter why you are out there, all that matters is that you are.
Shimano GRX shift/brake set consisting of the ST-RX820 Dual Control lever for confident handling and the BR-RX820 hydraulic disc brake caliper for consistent braking performance. For a smooth and at the same time easy maintenance provide the proven One Way Bleeding Bleeding system and the Easy Hose Joint System, which greatly facilitates the brake line replacement.
Shimano GRX ST-RX820 brake/shift lever
Plenty of Flare is a typical feature of modern Gravel bike handlebars. The ergonomics of the GRX ST-RX820 shift/brake lever have been optimized and specifically adapted to flared handlebars. While the grip design reduces pressure on the palm, the textured, non-slip surface of the brake lever blade improves handling on uneven terrain. A tiny innovation in the cockpit for maximum gain in comfort and control. With these prerequisites, the ergonomic brake/shift lever is perfectly suited for long-distance use or full- or multi-day tours in mixed terrain.
The STI lever not only offers maximum comfort, but is also characterized by its smooth, precise and highly responsive shifting functionality across the entire gear range. In addition, the proven SERVO WAVE technology ensures particularly good dosage in terms of deceleration. Adjustable in reach and free stroke.
Shimano GRX BR-RX820 disc brake caliper
The GRX BR-RX820 hydraulic caliper stands for superior braking power in difficult terrain. Thanks to improved dosing and a faster-gripping pressure point, Gravel bikers experience a completely new feeling of control. In addition, the Flatmount disc brake caliper is quieter and easier to maintain than ever before, despite its flatter design. While a 10 % increase in brake pad spacing reduces noise, the proven One Way Bleeding system makes servicing easier.
Dual Control Lever (DCL) | The Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in one control unit for easy as well as comfortable operation. In raising the standard of performance, their innovative ergonomics are even more important to consider than adding additional gearing. However, the highlight of the STI shifters (Shimano Total Integration) shifters, is the ability to change gears front and rear with just one finger. The Dual Control levers owe this not only to an extremely precise and smooth operation, but also to the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.
SERVO WAVE | Because the brake lever absorbs a lot of brake travel right at the beginning of its movement, the brake pads come into contact with the brake disc more quickly and more lever travel remains for modulating the braking force. Accordingly, SERVOWAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.
J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | For brake systems with J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated squeeze seal (olive), which makes the installation and removal of the brake line much easier overall.
Ice Technologies | In order to keep the braking power at longer continuous operation consistently high, Shimano has developed the Ice-Tech cooling technology for brake discs and brake pads. Brake pads with Ice Technologies feature cooling fins made of aluminum, which better dissipate heat. In conjunction with the optimized radiation properties of the rotor, this results in a longer durability of the pads, while brake noise and fading are minimized.
