These confidence inspiring wheels feature a new rim profile, enabling them to be lighter while improving their resistance to impacts and pinch flats. To reduce the weight even more, the front wheel spoke count has been reduced from 32 to 28, thus increasing their responsiveness to direction changes. All this built around a hub that can already boast several World Cup victories: the 240.

Wider tires, tubeless compatibility and impressive stability are perfect for today's freeride, enduro or downhill courses. With these features, the FR 1500 Classic wheel is the ideal basis for gravity mountainbike fun.

CLASSIC Technology

CLASSIC wheels are built using DT Swiss' proven wheel components: Hubs, spokes, nipples and rims all meet some of the tightest tolerances in the bicycle industry. The conventional build of all CLASSIC wheels allows one to easily find and install spare parts, even in remote corners of the world. CLASSIC wheels come with rims specifically designed for their intended use and aluminium versions are tubeless convertible.

Hub technology

DT Swiss hubs have earned their legendary reputation for quality and performance. There are multiple features that make this product a winner: The Ratchet System driver mechanism is extremely durable, reliable and can be serviced without special tools in minutes, thanks to its simple press fit assembly. The press fit assembly also allows all hubs to work in almost any currently existing axle configuration, making them compatible with almost every bike. The contact free seals and high precision build guarantee smooth bearings; every bit of the rider's energy is transformed into forward momentum. These features and the super lightweight design of all the hub parts highlights the racing legacy of this classic hub.

Proven freewheel technology

The patented DT Swiss Ratchet System is known throughout the world for it's reliability, efficiency and long-lasting performance. It features 36 tooth ratchets, with 10 degrees of quick engagement. This faster engagement allows for increased, more positive power transfer under load and higher performance in technical situations.

Boost

Boost compatible hubs have an enhanced flange distance. This has significant advantages: a flatter spoke angle and improved symmetry allow building a stiffer and stronger wheel, always an advantage, but especially for larger diameter wheels in challenging terrain.
