With the Roubaix Armadillo Elite, you get a very robust, durable all-round road bike tire with extra high puncture protection. The in-house GRIPTON rubber compound makes it fast and strong, while its wider cross-section ensures optimum damping properties.

Armadillo Elite
Specialized's strongest all-round puncture protection for countless kilometers of year-round use. The superior puncture protection does not cost any extra weight. The tire sidewalls are protected by a Kevlar protective layer from bead core to bead core. An additional nylon protective belt under the tread increases the tire's resistance where it meets the ground.

GRIPTON Compound
The performance of a tire depends largely on the rubber compound used. The development of the GRIPTON rubber compound is based on a completely proprietary formula that is fully under Specialized's control. This new rubber compound offers very low rolling resistance with excellent grip and controllability in all situations, be it sudden steering maneuvers, high speeds or steep lean angles when sprinting or cornering; GRIPTON also offers high reliability in all-round use and in adverse road and weather conditions.
