Shimano GRX – United in Gravel
Gravel is the great equalizer. No matter who you are, where you come from or where you want to go. Gravel celebrates individuality. It welds together in a shared passion. It lays the foundation for friendships and creates memories for the ages. Whether you ride one kilometer or a hundred. Whether with professional equipment or without. With a 10-speed, 11-speed or 12-speed gear system. Whether on paved roads, forest roads, back roads – or no roads at all. It does not matter why you are out there, all that matters is that you are.
Shimano GRX Di2 shift/brake set consisting of the ST-RX825 Dual Control lever for confident handling and the BR-RX820 hydraulic disc brake caliper for consistent braking performance. For a smooth and at the same time easy maintenance provide the proven One Way Bleeding Bleeding system and the Easy Hose Joint System, which greatly facilitates the brake line replacement.

More control and integration on the next Gravel adventure – that is the promise of the electronic components of the RX825 series which expand Shimano's GRX family with the proven and at the same time improved Di2 functionality. The wireless cockpit is defined by the STI levers, which are designed for use on mixed terrain and combine sophisticated ergonomics with fast, wireless shifting performance.
A special feature is the third button on the inside of the hoods, which can be used to activate the front derailleur via the FRONT SHIFT NEXT function to easily switch the chain to the chainring that is not in use. As all function buttons on the ST-RX825 shift/brake levers can be freely configured using the E-TUBE Project Cyclist app, the shifter can also be used in other ways, e. g. to switch between the individual screens of a compatible bike computer. If this is still not enough customization for you, you can combine your Dual Control lever with one of the three options of the SW-RS801 satellite switch (sold separately).
The design of the GRX Di2 brake/shift levers is based on their mechanical counterpart, which adapts to modern Gravel handlebars with plenty of Flare. The slightly rounded shape not only ensures a seamless transition into the flared handlebars, but also increases the grip surface in combination with the raised horns, which reduces the risk of pressure points. In addition to the ribbed surface of the rubber grips, the non-slip coating on the brake lever blade provides the necessary grip. Speaking of brakes: in terms of deceleration, the proven SERVO WAVE technology ensures particularly good modulation. In addition, the brake lever can be adjusted in reach and free stroke.
Ports: 1x EW-SD300
Shimano GRX BR-RX820 disc brake caliper
The GRX BR-RX820 hydraulic caliper stands for superior braking power in difficult terrain. Thanks to improved dosing and a faster-gripping pressure point, Gravel bikers experience a completely new feeling of control. In addition, the Flatmount disc brake caliper is quieter and easier to maintain than ever before, despite its flatter design. While a 10 % increase in brake pad spacing reduces noise, the proven One Way Bleeding system makes servicing easier.
Dual Control Lever (DCL) | The Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in one control unit for easy as well as comfortable operation. In raising the standard of performance, their innovative ergonomics are even more important to consider than adding additional gearing. However, the highlight of the STI shifters (Shimano Total Integration) shifters, is the ability to change gears front and rear with just one finger. The Dual Control levers owe this not only to an extremely precise and smooth operation, but also to the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.
SERVO WAVE | Because the brake lever absorbs a lot of brake travel right at the beginning of its movement, the brake pads come into contact with the brake disc more quickly and more lever travel remains for modulating the braking force. Accordingly, SERVOWAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.
J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | For brake systems with J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated squeeze seal (olive), which makes the installation and removal of the brake line much easier overall.
Ice Technologies | In order to keep the braking power at longer continuous operation consistently high, Shimano has developed the Ice-Tech cooling technology for brake discs and brake pads. Brake pads with Ice Technologies feature cooling fins made of aluminum, which better dissipate heat. In conjunction with the optimized radiation properties of the rotor, this results in a longer durability of the pads, while brake noise and fading are minimized.
