40 – The Downhill Racer's Edge
Target Locked: Top of the Podium. Developed for the World Cup tracks of this world, the 40 from FOX has the hot seat firmly in its sights. With its versatile tunability and enormous traction, the Double Crown suspension fork mutates into a true performance wonder at every DH race.
As a representative of the Factory series, this fork with the proven FLOAT air suspension is of course also packed with functions. On the technical side, the Gravity-focused GRIP X2 damping stands out in particular, which generates maximum traction and thus creates the necessary confidence for racing. While the shape of the arch and fork legs skillfully increases the strength to a maximum with minimal use of material, the lowers impress with clever detail solutions. Both the "Bypass" channels and the special bleed valves are dedicated to pressure regulation in order to exploit the maximum suspension travel potential on the one hand and to optimize the fork's response on the other. With its smooth and extremely durable Kashima coating, the 40 is also visually impressive.

GRIP X2 | Greater Traction. Even more Control and Speed. When it comes to tunability, support and suppleness, this Downhill-oriented damping stands out not only in the FOX lineup. Benefiting from the advantages of long travel, GRIP X2 generates maximum ground contact as well as immense cornering traction. This not only counteracts fatigue, but also gives riders the confidence they need to push the limits in Downhill and Enduro races.
Lower Leg Arch | To ensure an aggressive riding style even in Downhill use, the arch and lower tubes have a design that increases steering stiffness and stability to a maximum. At the same time, any unnecessary additional weight is avoided in order to meet both the increased requirements and performance demands in the best possible way.
Lower Leg Bypass Channels | When the fork compresses, the air pressure increases, which can result in the fork not reaching its full travel. Channels in the lower tubes solve this problem by significantly increasing the air volume. This not only reduces the occurrence of unwanted pressure increases, but also allows the oil to circulate to the upper areas of the lowers, keeping the inner seals and bushings lubricated at all times.
Lower Leg Bleeders | To further improve sensitivity and responsiveness to small bumps, the lowers have vent valves in addition to the "Bypass" channels, which allow the atmospheric pressure to be equalized at the touch of a button.
Floating Axle | The floating 20 mm thru axle allows a chassis alignment that avoids unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs. This ensures a more even suspension movement over the entire range of suspension travel.
