Details of the Fjällräven Abisko hiking shorts

Technical hiking shorts in an optimized fit. The combination of stretch and G-1000 provides plenty of freedom of movement and durability. Ideal for hikes where nothing should hinder your progress in the terrain. The waistband is cut higher in the back than in the front, so the pants fit snugly under your pack when you're active. The inside seams are missing altogether and have been replaced with whole pieces of fabric, reducing abrasion.

The zippered welt pockets sit so you can reach them even when wearing a backpack with a relief strap. One larger leg pocket with flap and one smaller inner mesh pocket on the right leg, one smaller pocket for cell phone or GPS device on the left leg. Stretch at the back closure and G-1000 reinforcement in the seat area.

G-1000 - Durable and versatile functional material

G-1000 is Fjällräven's self-developed durable and adaptable material, which makes you ready for any kind of adventure in any season. The dense fabric is wind and water resistant and very durable, yet extremely breathable and quick drying. This makes it an ideal clothing material for outdoor use as well as for long-distance travel and exploration to all corners of the earth.

G-1000 is made from a blend of polyester and cotton waxed with a thin layer of Greenland Wax. The wax gives the material extra protection against dirt, wind and moisture and can easily be applied thicker or washed out as needed.
Aside from wind and weather, G-1000 also protects against harmful sun rays and annoying insect bites. It is therefore ideal if you want to discover the beauty of nature without restrictions.
