The SLX M7100 series was developed for those enthusiastic mountain bikers who want to explore new trails and, in typical Shimano fashion, adapts the technologies of the high-end XTR groupset. These innovations include 12-speed drivetrain, Micro Spline and Hyperglide+, which have already proven themselves in the big sister Deore XT.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System)

In brake systems with a J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated crush seal (olive), which makes it much easier to install and remove the brake hose.

Shimano SLX BL-M7100 brake lever

The hydraulic SLX BL-M7100 brake lever is characterized by Shimano's SERVOWAVE technology, which ensures particularly good modulation. Because the brake lever takes up a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads make contact with the brake rotor more quickly and there is more lever travel to modulate the braking force. Accordingly, SERVO WAVE brake systems impress with their faster response, higher performance and shorter free travel.

The design of the SLX brake lever follows the XTR model and is therefore not mounted parallel to the handlebars, but at an angle, so that it is supported at a second point on the handlebars in addition to the clamp and is therefore significantly stiffer than before. The lever is equipped with a tool-free grip width adjustment option for individual adjustment. Thanks to the I-Spec EV design, the SLX SL-M7100-I shifters can be mounted directly on the brake lever.

Shimano SLX BR-M7120 disc brake caliper

The Shimano SLX BR-M7120 post mount brake caliper with its 4-piston design is ideal for enduro and downhill use. By accelerating the resetting of the pistons, the modulation behavior has been improved once again compared to its predecessor, resulting in better brake control. The N03A resin brake pads with Ice-Tech cooling fins in conjunction with the powerful 4-piston brake calliper guarantee extremely good deceleration.
