The Specialized Demo Race stands for maximum speed on the most demanding downhill trails. The Demo Race now comes in a mullet setup for the perfect balance between grip and handling. With the FlipChip on the chainstay, you can choose between 27.5" and 29" rear wheels depending on the terrain and riding style. It also regulates the length of the chainstays and the height of the bottom bracket.

Details of the Specialized Demo Race

The engineers have developed a very special suspension system to ensure that nothing holds you back, even on the most difficult trails. Thanks to the rearward travel of the rear wheel axle in the upper suspension travel, the rear wheel lifts off over kerb-like obstacles instead of getting stuck on them. This saves crucial seconds.

The World Cup-proven kinematics are supported by high-quality suspension elements from Öhlins, while the X01 drivetrain from SRAM, specially developed for downhillers, shifts safely and quickly between start and finish.

The frame of the Demo Race M5 is optimized so that the traction advantages of a 29" front wheel and the better manoeuvrability of a 27.5" rear wheel can be used. At the same time, the possibility of adapting the size of the rear wheel to different terrains and riding styles is retained, as the adjustable rear triangle ensures that the chainstay length and bottom bracket height remain set independently of the tire size.
