The SRAM RED shift/brake levers have a new look and continue SRAM's philosophy of perfecting the interface between rider and bike. SRAM has thoroughly tested everything - the transition between the handlebars and the grip rubber, the grip structure, the finger grip width and the respective contact points with both the shift and brake levers. The result is an extremely comfortable, highly customized fit, making the shift/brake levers appear like a natural extension of the rider.

DoubleTap

What is DoubleTap? DoubleTap® is the key technology from SRAM that replaces traditional technology. The combination of brake and shift lever has not proven itself. SRAM RED, SRAM Force, SRAM Rival and SRAM Apex have a brake lever that brakes and a shift lever that shifts.

The advantages of DoubleTap®: This makes shifting faster and easier. There is only one direction of movement. To shift up, a quick tap is all it takes. To shift to a lower gear, simply push the lever further.

This is how DoubleTap: works The ingenious thing about DoubleTap® technology is the constant direction of movement of the gearshift. With a short, quick tap, the transport pawl moves the ratchet wheel upwards through the shifting range. For a lower gear, the lever is moved a longer distance. The holding and transport pawls skip over each other quickly and cleanly.

Free choice of grip position: The almost linear direction of movement of the DoubleTap® levers offers yet another advantage. The shift lever can be operated from almost any grip position. A unique feature is the fact that the shift lever can be pulled towards the handlebars like the trigger of a pistol! You can shift up in a sprint without releasing the grip on the handlebars.

ErgoDynamics™

Thanks to longer brake levers, independent reach adjustment for brake and shift levers and an optimized lever shape, the levers are comfortable and easy to reach even for riders of different sizes.

Grip width adjustment

The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever is a very personal matter. Riders have individual position preferences as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be easily adjusted - for maximum control with just one finger.

Yaw™

The front derailleur cage rotates and thus maintains a constant angular relationship with the chain. Yaw technology enables trim-free shifting. This makes shifting transitions more direct and precise and, in combination with the new Red cranks and Red chainrings, the Yaw forms a perfect unit with the chain. ZeroLoss

ZeroLoss stands for "zero loss". When you press the gear lever to shift up or down a gear, the cable is triggered immediately, ensuring zero loss of movement. There is no more idle time waiting for the gear to engage. The gear is changed immediately and precisely.
