350 DEG – Dare To Dazzle

Its well thought-out yet straightforward design enables a low weight and at the same time offers excellent rolling characteristics. Maintenance and conversion of the freewheel system are also simple, as no special tools are required. The result is a hub that supports cyclists in their independence.
5 DEGree Engagement Angle. After the Ratchet DEG technology was introduced with the DT 240 models, the DT 350 hubs now also adopt the fast-engaging freewheel system, but use 72 instead of 90 teeth, which corresponds to a no less crisp engagement angle of 5°. The concept is aimed specifically at mountain bikers and promises not only a more direct response on the Trail but also a faster power flow and an even more distinctive sound.

Ratchet DEG | Each Ratchet system has its own special characteristics, but they all offer the legendary DT Swiss reliability. This reliability is the result of the simultaneous interlocking of the teeth, which leads to significantly lower point loads. The special feature of the patent-pending Ratchet DEG freewheel system is the significantly smaller engagement angle, which improves response without compromising on load capacity and durability.
Enlarged Ratchets | The DT 350 hubs with Ratchet DEG system feature 2 enlarged ratchet wheels, which ensure a smaller idle distance. This results in more direct acceleration, e.g. out of corners, as well as the ability to adjust the pedal position more quickly, e.g. when overcoming obstacles on technical uphill passages. At the same time, the two ratchet wheels made of steel allow reliable power transmission, both over a large contact surface and over a long period of time.
Bigger Bearings | Compared to the DT 240 hubs with Ratchet DEG system, the DT 350 models use larger bearings. Due to the increased space requirements, the bearings have been relocated to the inside of the hub. In order to maintain compatibility with the previous Ratchet DEG freewheel bodies, a correspondingly larger spacer compensates for the increased distance between the housing and freewheel bearing. In addition, the innovative design allows bearings to be changed without special tools, as the threaded ring does not need to be removed.
