353 NSW – Speed of Light
The combination of innovative rim design and AXS connection in the form of an integrated sensor for precise monitoring of tire pressure makes the 353 NSW wheelset one of the most advanced models in the ZIPP lineup in all performance areas. With their low weight, the wheels for disc brakes are ideal for climbers as well as modern endurance and road race cyclists.
The wave-shaped HyperFoil profile with its differentiated SawTooth rim depth of 35/40 mm and the HexFin ABLC dimple structure are responsible for the excellent aerodynamic properties and outstanding crosswind stability of the 353 NSW. However, the wheelset is also characterized by enormous durability and is even stronger in the current version. Thanks to a revised carbon layup, the resistance has been increased by a further 16 % compared to previous models.
The wheels are rounded off with the help of the ZR1 SL premium hubs, which are 30 grams lighter than the previous version and feature ceramic hybrid bearings that reduce rolling resistance on any surface, whether on country roads, uphill or downhill. Due to the specific focus on road bikes, ZIPP does not recommend the 353 NSW wheels for Gravel use.

AXS Wheel Sensor | With the system integrated into the rim, the tire pressure can be monitored and analyzed in real time without having to attach an external device to the valve stem. Fine-tuning the air pressure helps the rider to optimize their speed and performance in a constantly changing environment. Before riding, the pressure should be checked: a green light means you're ready to go. Thanks to the ability to measure the pressure while riding, problems can also be detected at an early stage.
Total System Efficiency (TSE) | Based on the simple premise "efficiency = speed", the SRAM Group introduces TSE, a solution for maximum performance in the real world, a world of imperfect roads and ever-changing riding conditions. In cycling terms, efficiency means less effort in overcoming air resistance, gravity, rolling resistance and vibration losses. The result: more speed with less power. The factors that enable a correspondingly more efficient ride are wider (Tubeless) tires, lower air pressure, an optimized rim profile and a new type of rim laminate.
Tubeless Straight Side (TSS) | Hookless Tubeless or Tubeless Straight Side describes the design of the rims. Tubeless-compatible rims can be ridden without a tube, but a setup with a tube is also possible. Hookless or Straight Side describes the shape of the rim flange, which in this case is straight and designed without the classic hook. This design offers advantages in terms of greater impact resistance of carbon rim flanges.
Notes and recommendations:
- Tire pressure: ZIPP specifies the maximum air pressure as 5 bar (73 psi). Depending on the tire width, 4.5 bar / 65 psi (30 to 34 mm) or 4.0 bar / 58 psi (35 mm) are recommended.
- Inner tube: The use of an inner tube is possible, but only in conjunction with Tubeless tires approved by ZIPP. The manufacturer recommends the Vector R Z30 NSW tires developed in cooperation with Goodyear, which are specially tailored to the 353 NSW rims. The inner tube must also feature an appropriate threaded valve. To ensure the functionality of the AXS tire pressure sensor, the supplied Smart Tube is required.
- Warranty: ZIPP offers an unlimited warranty on the 353 NSW wheels, which covers all structural damage. The AXS wheel sensor is covered by SRAM's regular 2-year warranty.
Scope of supply:
front wheel incl. rim tape (26 mm), sealant injector, inner tube (SRAM AXS Smart Tube) and brake rotor lock ring
