Instead of telling gravel bikers what to ride, Shimano thought about what cyclists need for their off-road adventures. The result is the Shimano GRX components, which together form the first groupset developed specifically for use on rough tracks and gravel. The Shimano GRX sets itself apart from the rest of the component world with its gravel-specific ergonomics, optimized gradation options, proven robustness and a quiet and stable drivetrain.
Gravel is all about inclusivity and curiosity. From beginners to seasoned veterans, everyone swears by the SHIMANO GRX, the industry's first gravel-specific component group, for its smooth shifting, reliable braking and outstanding gravel comfort.
With the new 1x12-speed GRX 827 Di2, SHIMANO is introducing completely wireless components in the road bike handlebar segment for the first time. The GRX RX827 is based on robust MTB technology and is characterized by performance, durability and versatility.
SHIMANO SHADOW ES
A flatter and at the same time more stable further development of SHIMANO's SHADOW chain stabilization ensures outstanding performance even on rough terrain. The concept of the SHADOW rear derailleur has been further developed. It is now slimmer, more robust and more intelligent and features a SHADOW-style chain stabilizer and a motor unit with an automatic impact recovery function that returns it to its starting position after an impact.
The SHIMANO GRX Di2 12-speed shift/brake lever offers fast, wireless shifting for gravel and mixed terrain riding. Thanks to raised horns, a ribbed surface and a non-slip coating, the ergonomic brake lever offers more safety and control. With its new design, the grip is ideal for seamless integration into handlebars with flare without compromising the position of the gravel-specific third button. Three satellite shifter options for the RX825 levers complete the cockpit and offer maximum customization options with their SHIMANO FRONT SHIFT NEXT function.
The GRX RX827 rear derailleur with the new SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology comes in the SGS version with a long cage and was developed with a focus on robustness and functionality. It features a wedge-shaped design with a flat profile, with the chain stabilizer unit seamlessly integrated into the housing to provide less surface area for off-road collisions. With no sharp edges, it can slide off obstacles should an impact be unavoidable.
The crankset offers a balance between weight savings, optimized efficiency and a range of gearing options to meet the varying demands of mixed terrain riding. By combining a 10-51 cassette with a 40-tooth chainring, you always have maximum propulsion in all situations. The FC-RX820-1 is available in crank arm lengths of 170mm, 172.5mm and 175mm and therefore offers the option of individual customization.
