Climbing mountains quickly and descending them even faster is the domain of eMTBs. With the HX 1700 wheelset, mountain bikers have a reliable partner that always maintains the right fun factor. At the same time, the high-end wheels are designed to meet the increased requirements that the ongoing development in the e-bike segment entails.
Instead of changing the proven rim profiles, additional material has been added to the DT Swiss Hybrid models exactly where it is needed most. The parts where the greatest loads occur have been reinforced so that the aluminum rims can not only withstand higher speeds, but also carry a system weight of up to 150 kg. In order to offer every rider the best possible grip and traction, the HX 1700 wheels are also available with two different rim widths.
The revised 350 hubs, whose enlarged hub body enables better braking and drive torque, are also designed for durability. While the precisely welded rim ends represent the lightest and most stable type of connection, the reinforced Hybrid 1 spokes increase lateral and torsional stiffness.
Legendary reliability | The hybrid wheels of the HX 1700 SPLINE (Straight Pull Line) series benefit from targeted testing procedures and many years of experience in the development of E-MTB components. Thanks to manual work, not only is precise manufacturing quality achieved, but the well-known, brand-typical reliability is also ensured.
Tubeless Ready | Tubeless tires offer some decisive advantages over the conventional combination of tire and tube. The tire can be ridden with less pressure without risking "snakebites" and therefore offers more grip. The lower pressure also ensures a more comfortable ride. The absence of the inner tube means that there is no friction between the inner tube and the tire and therefore less rolling resistance when riding off-road and over obstacles.
Ratchet freewheel system | The special feature of the patented freewheel system is that all the teeth of the two toothed pulleys always engage simultaneously. In contrast to pawl freewheel hubs, where the meshing surface is comparatively small, the loads are distributed evenly over a large contact surface due to the inclusion of the entire end faces. The result is a significantly lower point load and therefore much greater reliability.
Pro Lock Technology | The DT Pro Lock spoke nipples prevent the spoke-nipple connection from loosening on its own. A patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, which enables the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely. Repeated re-centering is possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
