The components of the Deore M6200 / M6250 series not only complete Shimano's MTB line-up, but also boast the same technical innovations as the current XTR and Deore XT groupsets. A correspondingly adapted selection of materials makes the precise and intuitive Di2 shifting behavior, which is now entirely wireless, accessible to an even wider range of riders.

Shimano Deore RD-M6260-12 rear derailleur

The RD-M6260 model adds an E-MTB-compatible rear derailleur option to the wireless Deore series. In contrast to its counterpart, the extremely rigid 12-speed rear derailleur relies on the main battery of the E-Bike for its power supply. However, the proven wireless shifting technology is retained along with other strengths of the RD-M6250 rear derailleur. For example, the RD-M6260 rear derailleur also uses the Shadow ES construction, which enables a slim, wedge-shaped low profile design. The automatic reset function, which immediately returns the rear derailleur to its original position in the event of an impact, is also on board.

The necessary durability is ensured by wide, cleverly arranged linkage, joints and plates in combination with the robust derailleur pulleys, which minimize the risk of dirt ingress. With its long cage, the rear derailleur not only offers sufficient space for HyperGlide+ cassettes with a gradation of 10-51 teeth, but also ensures precise, fast as well as smooth shifting in combination with them. Furthermore, the Di2 rear derailleur supports the E-Bike-specific AUTO SHIFT and FREE SHIFT technologies. While the AUTO SHIFT mode always ensures optimum gear selection with the help of an intelligent sensor system, the FREE SHIFT function makes it easy to maintain your speed and determine the next gear change yourself, even when idling.

Shadow ES | This construction is characterized by a low profile, which reduces the forward-facing surface of the rear derailleur. As a result, the rear derailleur features no protruding edges that could get caught on stones or roots.

AUTO SHIFT | The function measures the rider's pedaling dynamics to decide on the appropriate gear ratio and automatically perform shifting operations. As cadence and speed decrease and torque increases, the system selects an easier gear. When starting off and accelerating, the system in turn automatically shifts up. This not only increases riding comfort, but also ensures a smooth and consistent cadence during climbing as well as descents.

FREE SHIFT | This function enables the drivetrain system to perform shifting operations without the use of pedal force. For this purpose, the drive unit emits just enough power at idle to trigger a shifting operation at the cassette without affecting the acceleration of the bike. In downhill use, there is thus more time to plan the right line and to take a more stable riding position.
