Super Record 13 – In Every Shift. We Do One More.
Since its introduction in 1973, the legendary Super Record series has repeatedly redefined the limits of performance in cycling sports. Developed in collaboration with professional athletes, the current iteration is now set to take on a leading role in terms of shifting speed, ergonomics and handling.
The New Standard in Performance. While gear changes are even faster than with the previous 12-speed components, a wide range of gear ratio options ensures that every rider finds the optimum cadence. However, the Super Record 13 groupset embodies more than just an additional sprocket. It represents a completely new performance concept that forms the platform for Campagnolo's future developments.
More Choice. More Control. Following the launch of the classic 2-speed drivetrain system for road bikes, Campagnolo is expanding the Super Record 13 portfolio to include other areas of application. The introduction of specialized rear derailleur options not only forms the basis for a dedicated 1x13-speed road bike drivetrain, but also for a 2x13-speed Allroad version and the Super Record X model series, which also relies on a 1-speed drivetrain system and clearly focuses on Gravel use. A TT version for time trials and triathlons is also already in the starting blocks.
Campagnolo Super Record X crank
With the Super Record X components, Campagnolo is expanding its platform for 13-speed drivetrain systems with a genuine Gravel option. The crank, which is designed for a mono chainring configuration, forms the heart of the groupset. It is the result of a technical project that has set itself the goal of combining structural stiffness, mechanical efficiency, low weight and functional aerodynamics without compromising on design. Accordingly, the lightweight crank relies on visible carbon fiber arms for a sophisticated look that embodies Campagnolo's unmistakable aesthetic. A special branding on the outside also underlines the attention to detail that has always characterized the manufactruer from Vicenza. Firmly attached to the crank arms are the proven Ultra-Torque half-shafts, which have been revised in terms of length for the Super Record X model (47.5 mm chain line with 152 mm Q-factor) in order to optimize compatibility with Gravel frames and to offer more tire clearance.
At the latest when combined with the Campagnolo Aero chainring (not included), the off-road-compatible crank meets the demand for maximum efficiency, precision, and personalization. With options ranging from 38 to 52 teeth, it impresses in both Adventure and Gravel Race applications. In conjunction with the specifically adapted Super Record X cassettes (9-42 or 10-48 teeth), the result is a fully modular and state-of-the-art drivetrain system that offers a wide range of options for all types of riders. This is rounded off by low-friction bearings and the QCK-Tech bottom brackets (not included) which are also available in many versions and enable faster, more intuitive and more precise assembly. The system also features an inner seal to protect the balls and a patented outer seal between the shaft and the bearings, not only preventing the ingress of mud and dust, but also increasing longevity.
Features of the Super Record X crank:
- high-quality crank arms made from UD carbon
- durable and resistant crankshaft made of steel (ASTM 2 rated)
- matched to the Campagnolo Aero chainrings (not included) with 38 to 52 teeth
- advanced surface finish for increased wear resistance even during intensive use
- extremely smooth-running Ultra Torque™ crankshaft
- bearings with particularly high sliding properties
- chain line: 47.5 mm
- Q-factor: 152 mm
Ultra Torque™ | The system, which uses two shaft halves that are inseparably connected to the respective crank arm, has nothing to fear from a comparison with an integral crankshaft in terms of torque transmission. A single oversize bolt ensures a firm connection, which also facilitates assembly. A larger diameter and the bearings located outside the bottom bracket shell, which allow for an increased support width, also make the entire construction stiffer. The Hirth spur gearing, which originates from engine construction, also benefits torsional rigidity and gives the Ultra Torque™ crankshaft self-aligning properties.
Scope of supply:
1 pair of crank arms with integrated half shafts (without chainring and QCK-Tech bottom bracket cups)
